Elizabeth Cammarata is the owner and director of Alton Street Dance. She has danced since the age of 3 all the way through college and continues to take classes wherever and whenever possible to continue her dance education. Elizabeth has danced in many local performances, as well as participated in the Dance Teacher Club of Boston training. Elizabeth strives to provide a loving, nurturing and professional environment for her students and their families. Outside of the studio Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband, children and their dog Tucker!

Alton Street Dance Studio (ASD) was founded in 2006 by owner and dance instructor – Elizabeth Cammarata.
At Alton Street Dance, we are committed to creating a positive and nurturing environment for all of our dancers, parents and guardians, and staff.
We offer wide variety of both recreational and competitive dance classes for children including Acrobatics, Ballet classes, Contemporary classes, Hip Hop classes, Jazz dance classes, Lyrical dance classes, Tap dance classes, Pointe classes, Preschool Creative Movement, and Zumba. Each class is one hour in length with the exception of our Preschool Creative Movement dance class (35 minutes) and our elementary Combo classes (2 hours).
At our dance school, your child will have the opportunity to improve in a dancing technique and repertoire. In both cases, we teach beginners and advanced students of all ages: Preschool, K – to the 12th grade.
- New students can enroll at any time for group or private dance classes for children!
- We also offer private lessons to current or potential students upon request.
- The studio opens 10 minutes prior to the first class of the day.
- ASD follows the Arlington Public Schools for snow days, vacation days and major holidays.
We are proud to welcome school students from nearby Greater Boston towns including Arlington, Burlington, Lexington, Medford, Stoneham, Winchester and Woburn in our dance studio.
Our beautiful studio is conveniently located in the heart of Arlington Center with ample street parking available for our clients and guests.
Our dance year runs September through May with a Recital showcasing our student’s talents at the end of the year.

Alton Street Dance offers a wide variety of classes for the recreational and competitive dancer in a nurturing and positive atmosphere. We accept students who are in preschool and toilet trained through High school aged students of all levels and abilities.
Our Dress Code requirements
Studio 1 is where we hold all of the group classes.
Studio 2 is used for private lessons and extra practice.
There are two large waiting areas with space for students to store their belongings.

- There is a $15 nonrefundable registration fee per student.
- Tuition Fees are nonrefundable.
- Tuition is due the first week of each month.
- A student’s placement in a class is of the discretion of the instructor.
- There must be a minimum 6 students in each class in order for the class to run.
- Students are only eligible to participate in Acro if they take an additional 2 hours per week of other disciplines or a 2 hour combo class.
- Pointe students must be approved by the instructor and also take a one hour Ballet class.

Jennifer Stauss actually grew up training in gymnastics and cheerleading and it wasn’t until age 11 that she found her love for dance. She studied at her local dance studio Sally’s School of Dance in New Hampshire & then in high school she continued her dance training at Edra Toths Academy of Dance and Music where she was also a member of the Northeastern Ballet Theatre, the high school Dance Team and her local dance studios’ competitive Dance Team. In college she studied dance at Temple University and then graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Dance from The University of New Hampshire. Here she was also a member of the UNH Dance Company. She has been teaching dance at a recreational and competitive level for over 10 years in eastern Massachusetts and northern New Hampshire. Jenn has a true passion for dance and teaching children. She enjoys bringing a love of dance to all of her classes. When Jennifer isn’t dancing, she enjoys taking her dog Joplin for walks and to the dog park.
Megan Dickerson started dancing at the age of three and is a proud ASD alum. In addition to being on the ASD dance team for 4 years, Megan has also danced professionally in Disney’s, “The Finest Hours”, Universal Pictures, “The Purge: Election Year” and has been cast in numerous acting and modeling gigs in the Boston area. Megan earned her business degree from Endicott College in Beverly, MA and serves as our office manager and social media coordinator. When needed, she is capable of filling in for any of our instructors with her broad dance background and experience. Outside of the studio, Megan enjoys keeping up with the current fashion trends and taking dance classes for fun.
Amy Hantson has danced since she was 3 years old. She trained in tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop at the Bolton Dance Academy in Glens Falls, NY for 15 years. During college, Amy was the choreographer and member of the Western New England College dance team. After moving to the Boston area, Amy spent 5 years as a choreographer and performer for OnStage Dance Company. She is now a certified Zumba instructor as well! When she’s not dancing, Amy is a first grade teacher in Watertown. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their golden retriever, Brogan.
Audrey Hatas grew up dancing at Accent on Dance in Waukesha, WI and has been choreographing and performing ever since. Since moving to Boston in 2009 she has danced with several groups, and for the past 4 years has been a member of Alive Dance Collective, a small contemporary company based in Cambridge. Growing up her favorite dance style was ballet, but she grew to love the freedom and creativity that contemporary offered, and she loves being able to share that with the next generation of dancers! Outside of the dance world, Audrey works as a physical therapist and loves running marathons, cooking, and hiking in her spare time.
