Welcome toAlton Street Dance Studio

Alton Street Dance (ASD) was founded in 2006 by owner & instructor Elizabeth Cammarata. At Alton Street Dance we are committed to creating a positive and nurturing environment for all our students, their parents/guardians and our staff.

ASD started on Alton St. in Arlington Center in 2006. During the summer of 2021 ASD moved to a beautifully renovated location on iconic Mass Ave. The studio, maybe, is in a different location, but the same high-quality dance education is still being proudly offered!

We offer a wide variety of both recreational and competitive dance classes for children three years of age through high school.

Classes are 45 minutes to an hour long with the exception of a Preschool Creative Movement dance class, which is 35 minutes long, and our 2-hour Combo classes.

When the schedule permits, private lessons may be scheduled.

We are proud to welcome school students from nearby Greater Boston towns including Arlington, Burlington, Lexington, Medford, Stoneham, Winchester and Woburn to our dance studio.

* Please note that ASD follows the Arlington Public Schools for inclement weather CLOSINGS.

Our dress code and shoes requirements

Pajama pants, sweat pants, baggy t-shirts sweatshirts, and hats are not proper dance attire.

A proper dress code is required so the instructor could see and correct proper body alignment and help prevent injury.

Since moving to Boston in 2009 she has danced with several groups, and for the past 4 years has been a member of Alive Dance Collective, a small contemporary company based in Cambridge, MA.

Growing up her favorite dance style was ballet, but she grew to love the freedom and creativity that contemporary offered, and she loves being able to share that with the next generation of dancers!

Mykayla Marcelino

Dance instructor

Mykayla Marcelino has been dancing since the age of 2 and began her dancing at the studio her mother owned. She received most of her dance training at Ocean State Dance Academy, where she studied and began teaching dance at 14, as well as competing with her high school dance team. Mykayla continued dancing and teaching in college at Lesley University, becoming a captain and choreographer for the dance team.

Now, Mykayla is a dancer, choreographer, and board member for OnStage Dance Company. When Mykayla is not dancing, she works as the Dean of Special Education at a Boston Public School, working on her Ph.D. in education, and snuggling with her two dogs, Charlie and Star.
